Meet Yocilin
After my time at Girls Inc., I started my first year at Yale University and decided to study ethics, politics, and economics on the pre-law track. My favorite class has been an elective class I took in the fall semester called Greek Art and Architecture. In it, we frequented the Yale Art Gallery and learned about many beautiful works of art and artists. I enjoyed the class so much that I hope to one day visit Greece and see all the art and monuments I learned about.
My favorite freshman year memory was before spring semester finals when my suitemates and I made slime. It was very random, but it felt nice to de-stress with something I enjoyed doing when I was younger, and my suitemate noted it was the happiest she had seen me. This reminded me of my memories at Girls Inc., where I was a peer leader and would often do fun activities such as seaweed pressing with other peer leaders and middle schoolers.
So many good things have happened since I left Girls Inc., but I hold dearly to the motto “Strong, Smart, and Bold.” I am studying abroad in Madrid and am excited to see what the future holds for me!
